Croquet
Members of the Waterville Valley Athletic and Improvement Association (WVAIA) now use this grassy plateau for croquet, a Waterville Valley activity since the early 1870s. The WVAIA was formed in 1888 to oversee hiking trails and recreation and has hosted summer croquet games ever since. Anyone can join the WVAIA and play Sunday afternoons beginning in July. Dress is informal until the end of the season on Labor Day, when traditional white clothing is worn.
