Thanks for the great description. Barbara F. & I tried snowshoeing up off Greeley Ponds toward Goodrich Rock and didn't get too far - a bit steep for snowshoes - now I've got to do it this summer.

Marc will be greatly missed - a very special person, he is now with the Brave Ones - rest in eternal peace, we will all meet again in the house of the Lord...

I never dreamed it would be me
my name for all eternity
recorded here at this hallowed place
alas, my name, no more my face...
"In the line of duty" I hear them say;
my family now the price will pay
my folded flag stained with their tears;
we only had those few short years...
The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest;
my sword I pass to those behind
and pray they keep this thought in mind...
I never dreamed it would be me
and with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last....

Our hearts ache. Your dear son touched more people's lives and hearts in 19 years than most people could ever do in a lifetime. Thank you for raising such an amazing young man, and thank you for sharing him with us. We embrace you.

It is with my deepest sympathy for your loss of Marc. As a US Army Veteran and US Army Retired Soldier, I salute your son in full respect for the ultimate sacrifice he gave for serving his Country. My prayers are with the family and friends of this young soldier. May God watch over and protect all our Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines, and US Coast Guard personnel that serve our great Nation. I believe Marc has joined all the other Guardian Angels to watch over others that are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
