The Waterville Valley Foundation was founded as a non-profit organizations dedicated to the support of people and programs that strengthen and lend distinction to community life in Waterville Valley, The Foundation was created in 1977, principally as a fund-raising organization in support of the Waterville Valley Adaptive Ski Program. Over time, the Foundation proved adept at raising funds, and expanded its charter to include support for other non-profit organizations in Waterville Valley and the Waterville Valley region.
Over the years, the Foundation has provided support for such local institutions as the Curious George Cottage and the Rey Center, the Waterville Valley Athletic and Improvement Association, Shakespeare in the Valley, the Waterville Valley Music Center. Outside the Valley, the Foundation has supported such diverse causes as Speare Memorial Hospital, the Center for Adolescent Health, and the Papermill Theater. Through these commitments, the Foundation has strived to provide leadership in athletic, cultural, and educational endeavors to enhance and sustain the quality and integrity of the Valley and traditions that define the fabric of our community.
In 2011, the Foundation was pleased to sponsor Shakespeare in the Valley's Sugarcoated Shakespeare family productions, and thanks to your support, were able to purchase much-needed new equipment for the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports program. The Foundation was a Gold-level sponsor of the Curious George Family Festival. We also made a significant donation to the Pemi-Baker Home Health and Hospice program in honor of Donald Jasinski and Mike Morin. Most recently, we donated to Waterville Valley Public Safety Director Chris Hodges' record-setting ride across New Hampshire in support of Hoops for Heroes and in honor of Marc Paul Decoteau.
